"Frågan är om det finns några svar?
- Svaret är att det bara finns frågor."

"The question is if there are any answers?
- The answer is that there are only questions."

One of the strange things about living in the world is that it is only now and then one is quite sure one is going to live forever and ever and ever. One knows it sometimes when one gets up at the tender solemn dawn-time and goes out and stands alone and throws one’s head back and looks up and up and watches the pale sky slowly changing and flushing and marvellous unknown things happen until the East almost makes one cry out and one’s heart stands still at the strange unchanging majesty of the rising of the sun - which has been happening every morning for thousands and thousands of years. One knows it for a moment or so. And one knows it sometimes when one stands by oneself in a wood at sunset and the mysterious deep gold stillneess slanting through and under the branches seems to be saying slowly again and again something one cannot quite hear, however much one tries. Then somethime the immense quiet of the dark blue at night with millions of stars waiting and watching makes one sure ; and sometimes a sound of far-off music makes it true ; and
sometimes
a look in someone’s eyes.

What is space? You cannot get hold of it, its essence, except through what is tangible.

Oscar Schlemmer

”It is so rare to be fully alive. And there is no use in trying to wake yourself up. I can walk around for days, knowing that I am in a daze, and not being able to wake up. The awakening always comes as a surprise. Sometimes it happens from a moment of intense feeling in a book or a work of art. But otherwise it most often happens in the dark. Very seldomly in the sun and daylight. Then I must preferably perform some task with my body, ski, chop wood, then it will suddenly burst into bloom in me and I become alive and see the everyday things, the rountine things. In the darkness it often happens, then I just have to be there – breath and fall into wonder over the breathing mechanism for instance – for it to come. Then all of the fiddly bits are swept away, the mind is collected and the skin is open. Then I can feel the wind blow miles away in the dome of the night sky and a single distinct scent can be sifted from the darkness and for a moment fill me up completely. Then every occurence recieves its own, particular greatness. And I myself become the unique thing that I am, the individual that is me and nobody else and who will die with me.” – Sven Barthel, Beaches

"I got less interested in the skills of one particular performer
and more interested in the energies that happened in the
invisible space between performers."
